Betsy has 6 grandsons…. and 6 granddaughters.  She is so creative and came to me with a neat idea that was so fun to shoot.  We met in an alley way, she had the boys dressed in white shirts and she wore black.  I couldn’t believe how easy the boys were to shoot and pose, they are all really sweet and are sure to be heart breakers with those blue eyes and blond hair.  (all of them!!)  The 6 granddaughters get to have a tea party session with Betsy’s husband Frank in a few weeks and I am excited for that session as well….maybe we can get the girls to dress him up a little.  I sure hope they are as easy as these boys… I have a feeling I can’t get that lucky again though.

Instead of booking a family or two every Saturday, I am going to set up two (maybe 3) Saturdays in a couple of beautiful locations to photograph families.  This saves you some money, and it is also going to be so much fun!

The first session is going to be at Scott Bartletts pond, just east of Holton on U Road.  This country setting will be complete with a sofa.  A sofa?? Yes… it is going to be so awesome, just wait and see.  (Okay, if you don’t like my sofa, I will have other, more boring, options.)

The second date is going to be October 23rd in a really awesome alley way covered in vines for a more “city” fall look.  I think this will be a really popular setting and will be awesome with the sofa as well as some other chairs I plan on bringing.

I appreciate both sets of parents being so patient with me on the editing.  These last weeks have been rough with morning sickness and exhaustion of this pregnancy and I have had to take care of my family and myself first.   Editing images and sessions have had to wait a bit and I feel really bad about that, but I truly am getting over that hump I think.  I have the most understanding clients and I really appreciate all the support and patience with me.  I really do enjoy pregnancy, just not this part of it.  I am on week 13 though so hopefully I am going to be feeling great very soon! {please pray that I do!}

The Bee Keeper was an interesting Hippie like man… or is he a Granola (moddern term for “hippie”)?  Anyway, he came in and ran his fingers (no gloves!) through the bees looking for the Queen Bee.  He found her and got his bucked out and a brush and swiped them off the branch in big chunks.  (They were really thick in some places!).  I asked him if he got stung, and he said “oh maybe about 5 or 6 times…” The remaining bees are still flying around the tree so we may need to spray them.  They aren’t really happy about being left behind.

It was actually a really fun learning experience, and I am glad they will be making honey somewhere in the country.  The kids and I ate some peanut butter and honey sandwiches for lunch… I was craving some honey after this experience.

Bryan and Jamie’s wedding was our last wedding for the summer, and it was such a beautiful wedding to end on.  You could see the love in their eyes and the excitement they had for the day was so contagious.  The wedding toasts were really amazing and heartfelt… I don’t think I have ever commented or even remembered a toast from a wedding, but theirs were so sweet from people they loved so much.

We had a great day and the perfect amount of cloud cover for some fun photographs at Ward Mead Park.  Bryan and Jamie live in Minnesota and did well in the Kansas heat they haven’t had to endure for awhile.

It was a beautiful wedding, beautiful day, and such a great note to end on for me and Kristy.  Congrats you guys!!  You are one couple that I know is in it for life.  Thanks for letting us share your day with you.

Joe and Kelsey are so sweet together.  Their wedding day was full of beautiful flowers (Rogette always does an amazing job!) and the wedding party was so fun and tolerant in the heat.   Joe and Kelsey decided to go the traditional rout of not seeing each other before the walk down the isle.  They were both so cute hiding from each other before the wedding and you could tell they really loved seeing each other for the very first time when the walk down the isle finally did come.  I probably got a lot more bride and groom separate photographs then I usually do, and that was actually really fun.

Emily and Tyler were so easy going and fun to photograph.  I love Emily’s bright, yet formal style, and her laugh is just so contagious, Tyler was just as easy going as could be and was up for anything.  From beginning to end it was a wonderful wedding day.  I am going to repeat myself again… I have the most wonderful and beautiful clients.
