Preschool pics…. GAP Kids style

This year I was hired for the third time to photograph the cuties at Faith Academy Learning Center, where my daughter Charlotte attends preschool.  Last year {click here to see} I did a traditional photo with an old desk and books.  It was so sweet!  I didn’t know how I would find anything as cute as that… I finally decided that simple was best.  I love walking by, and stopping to shop at the GAP (who doesn’t right?).  The photos in their store are always of cute kids on white, just being cute kids, so I thought that I would give it a try this year.  I think that the kids at FALC are even cuter then any of those GAP kids… any of them could be models, in my opinion.  They were great for me and I had so much fun getting them to smile…. and I only had to say “booger” once….and I got a real smile from the little guy, so I don’t even feel bad about it.:)

I hold myself to a high standard, even for preschool photos.  These photographs, as insignificant as they seem, will go down in history. As they graduate from high school some day these very photos will be flashed across the screen along side their senior photographs during their Senior Sayonara. (now I am making my pregnant self tear up thinking about Charlotte graduating high school…good grief… hold it together!) So, I really do put a lot of value on preschool photographs.

Thanks to Mis Heather, for letting me photograph you this year.  I know someday the kids will look back and fondly remember their awesome preschool teacher.

Another great thing about photographing on all white….. The group photo.  I did 2 or 3 kids at a time, and they all looked at the camera for the group shot this way, and they all fit on the backdrop.

Something else I should mention… the little girl in purple, my Charlotte, is now missing a tooth.  Not because it came loose and she wiggled it out (she is just 4), but because she broke it at my studio while I was cleaning one day.  I was pretty sad that it had to be pulled… but she is thrilled with the new look and is so proud of her missing tooth. (I did the same thing when I was 6 on my bike handle bars and knocked out 5 teeth that didn’t grow back until I was 8).  I admit, it is pretty cute, and her smile with the hole in it always makes me smile too.
